IRON FIST Gets Teaser and Premiere Date, and More TV Updates

The third season of The Flash premiered Tuesday night and brings the return of The CW’s DC superhero series. As far as I’m concerned, that means fall television season has officially begun. We have a recap of The Flash in today’s TV-Cap and also a teaser and premiere date for Marvel’s Iron Fist, an update on another season for American Horror Story, A Series of Unfortunate Events tease, and more.

The Smoke Clears. Iron Fist is the last of the original four series Marvel planned for release on Netflix. They’ve announced the series’ premiere date with a short, vague teaser; we’ll start seeing Danny Rand on March 17, 2017. [Nerdist]

Fright Hype. Ah, remember the days of Are You Afraid of the Dark? I remember the days but not the show, because I was too much of a scaredy cat to watch it. Luckily Kyle Anderson is made of braver stuff. He has a list of the eight scariest episodes for you to enjoy (since apparently some people enjoy getting spooked).

Question Those Ingredients. Even though you know what’s on the table is made from uh, questionable sources, you can’t deny the food spreads in Hannibal are beautiful. Titan Books is focusing on the aesthetics with their new cook developed by Janice Poon, the food stylist on the show. Feeding Hannibal features recipes along with anecdotes and photos from set. Golden Treasure. The fourth season of Black Sails will be the final one and will follow the pirates as they head to the West Indies pre-Treasure Island. Starz has annuonced the premiere date for season four with some snazzy new key art; the show will return on January 29. [IGN, Image: Starz]

Getting Gross. Stranger Things’ Barb met a rather gruesome end. If you’d like to re-create her ghastly final appearance, watch the above tutorial by Freakmo. Maybe don’t watch it if you’re the squeamish type and/or don’t want to see unsettling things before your second cup of coffee. [Nerdist]

Seventh Serving. FX isn’t wasting time; they’ve already renewed American Horror Story for season seven. It’s way too early for them to divulge the focus of the next installment, but series co-creator Ryan Murphy did recently talk about a “secret” season. Hmm. Eric has theories about what they’ll do next; read ’em here.

Watch or No? January 13, a Friday, won’t be unlucky for one reason: that’s when Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events will debut on Netflix. Lemony Snicket, played by Patrick Warburton, would have viewers believe otherwise as he encourages audiences to look away in a new teaser for the series. I think I’m going to ignore him and watch anyway. [Nerdist]

Disney On TV? Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, aka the showrunners on Agent Carter, have sold a pitch for an hour long project to ABC with a focus on Disney theme park mythology. The working title is Hyperion, and Fazekas and Butters are working with producer Jason Reed, a former Disney exec. Oh, the possibilities. Do you think it will be about the building of Disneyland? Or maybe it will focus on one of the other parks or even a particular attraction! Share your speculation in the comments. [Slashfilm]

Is Change Ahead? Netflix has released a new clip for season two of Voltron: Legendary Defender, and it hints at some drama. Will a new leader have to step up? Watch the preview here at Nerdist.

Whoa, Bro. As I mentioned way back at the beginning of this recap, The Flash has returned. Its third season raced onto the air Tuesday night with “Flashpoint.” That means exactly what you think it means. Read Joseph’s recap.

What are your first impressions of the Iron Fist teaser? Are you pumped about more American Horror Story? Let me know in the comments.
