Introducing the Latest Winner of our Inkshares Publishing Contest!

Over the past few years, Nerdist and Geek & Sundry have been fortunate to work with Inkshares, a publishing and production company based in Oakland and Los Angeles, to bring brilliant and original stories to life. From dystopian zombie dramas like Welcome to Deadland to hard science fiction thrillers like The Punch Escrow—currently in development as a major motion picture—the books in our Inkshares imprint celebrate genre and champion new voices.

For our latest Sci-Fi Novel Contest, Nerdist received over 150 incredible submissions. And after careful deliberation, we are pleased to announce the newest title to join our Inkshares Collection on the Nerdist imprint: The Experiment Himself by Takim Williams. This chilling tale about the repercussions of biotech innovation melds sci-fi and horror while exploring the nature of humanity, perception, grief, and determination.

An alumnus of Princeton University and former editor-in-chief of Figments, the campus publication for speculative fiction, Williams is the creator of the #InContext blog for the Human Trafficking Institute. For more about the author and the novel, take a look at Takim’s submission here.

Congratulations to the titles that finished as the top 3 most pre-ordered submissions, which will be published by Inkshares: After Death by Daniel Lee, Curio Citizen by Katherine Forrister, and Mission 51 by Ferd Crôtte. A big thank you to everyone who entered the contest!

Check back in for updates on The Experiment Himself and other books in the Nerdist and Geek & Sundry Inkshares collections.

If you have a story or even a fledgling idea, keep an eye out for more information on our next contest in the new year! In the meantime, check out Inkshares.
