Introducing “Mission Log”

You may have noticed that, last night, Nerdist introduced the newest addition to its podcast network. We’re excited about it, so here’s the rundown on what it is and how it came to be:

Mission Log: A Roddenberry Star Trek Podcast is a new podcast from Roddenberry Entertainment created by Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry, and, yes, he’s Gene’s son; the official launch is happening today at Star Trek Las Vegas. The podcast, hosted by DVD Geeks‘ John Champion and “Mac OS Ken” himself, Ken Ray, will analyze every single episode of every single permutation of Star Trek, all the way from the very beginning, as is evident from Episode 1, taking a look at “The Cage,” the first pilot with Jeffrey Hunter. John and Ken (hey, wait… no, not that John and Ken) have access to the Roddenberry family archives, so this is going to go into the kind of depth you won’t find anywhere else. If you’re deeply into Star Trek, or even if you’re just a regular fan, you’ll get insight into the creative process and development of the iconic series like never before.

You’ll find fresh episodes every week (yep, all 726 Trek episodes, six series, 30 seasons, one at a time) right here at Nerdist.com as well as MissionLogPodcast.com, and you’ll be able to comment/question/quemment on Twitter and Facebook, too.

So, boldly go (sorry) and listen to the first edition.

  1. Liam says:

I suspect Matt and Wil are both too busy to commit to recording another podcast every week. Don’t know if the plan is to have guests on sometimes?

  2. Luke says:

“Having a Trek podcast without the brain of Matt Mira is a MAJOR disservice to Trek fans.”

This really is a big surprise to me too. Although, I would suggest bringing Wheaton in to add a bit of humour.

In all, I loved it. Drop the siri voice though.

  3. Pedak says:

Can’t wait till they get to Deep Space Nine!

  4. SlaveToTheGrinds says:

How is this going to work? Once a week or two or six? I am really excited though yay trek goodness. Now if that Wheaton fellow would get cracking on the rest of the memories of the futurecast that would be great.

  5. Liam says:

    I dig this concept
