INSIDE OUT Re-Cut Into Dark Psychological Thriller

“We all have little voices in our head.”

If you weren’t able to see the emotions in young Reilly’s head during Pixar‘s Inside Out, what kind of film would you get? Without knowing that Joy was out on a trip with Sadness, and that only Anger, Fear, and Disgust were left running the show, what would this young girl look like to someone observing her?

It turns out you’d have one very dark, very troubled young child, battling the demons in her head while traversing a strange and scary world.

Oh, and if you add in some creepy music it really helps to make it all the more sinister.

At least that’s what the folks at CineMash have turned Inside Out into, with a re-cut trailer focusing on the troubles of Reilly, with none of the loveable emotions that help frame her story for us in sight. Inside Out easily goes from being an adorable film into a psychological thriller, one where a journey of self-discovery becomes a journey through madness.

It also seems like you could potentially do this with the emotions themselves. Joy is on her own journey, through strange places with strange and scary monsters lining her path. You could potentially remove the entire human world from the film and make Joy’s own psychological thriller.

Bing Bong as a terrifying monster though seems a little too cruel.

What other type of movie do you think you could re-cut Inside Out into becoming? Tell us your ideas in the comments below.
