The odds were ever in the favor of a group of lucky Hunger Games fans in Austin earlier this week who got to see a special sneak preview of the third installment, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 at the glorious Alamo Drafthouse theater, where you can eat good food, imbibe some alcohol, and watch a flick without worrying if people’s phones will go off. Oh they’ll kick ya right out if you do that, swifter than the out-of-shape guy running for the Cornucopia.
Immediately following the screening, our own Brian Walton conducted a Q&A with the film’s director Francis Lawrence and producer Nina Jacobson about the differences between the book and the movie, what adapting the third part of a book trilogy in to two parts was like, and more. Above you’ll see a lovely two-minute excerpt of the event. Please enjoy!
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is in cinemas nationwide beginning today.

(For clarity, it’s hard to find good videos on the internet of substantial length. It’s nice to hear people talk at length about art and science and fun(ny) stuff. You could probably charge for them. Revenue streeeeeeam brahhhh. 🙂 )
Did you just… You did. You wasted my time.
(Is there any way for you to host long-form discussions of whatever? Even if on YouTube with *gasp* ads? It could be another one of your things. Long-ass vidyas. Do it for the galaxy.)
