Inked Wednesday #76 – WORLD OF WARCRAFT, TRANSFORMERS, and More

Tattoos, in theory, are permanent. Their everlasting nature is the biggest factor you have to weigh when you’re considering a tattoo. Even when you feel you’re one hundred percent sure about one, you might change your mind years or decades later. Of course, if you are unhappy with a tattoo, you can look at removal options. The process involves a series of treatments, it isn’t cheap, and it doesn’t take your skin back to a completely blank state. So you could also go with a cover-up.

If you want to get existing ink covered up, the design is of the utmost importance. You can work with a tattoo artist you trust or scour the web for artists who specialize in creating new art out of existing pieces. Let them know if you have specific ideas about what you want in the finished product. This might be the ideal time to incorporate nods to more than one of your favorite nerdy franchises on your skin. This World of Warcraft fan turned a “Love” tattoo into a Horde symbol:

See more tattoos in the gallery below. You’ll find a Rebel Alliance symbol featuring Poe Dameron’s X-wing, Fish Bones from League of Legends, Transformers tattoos, Peter Rabbit, and more.

Show me your ink! No, that’s not a euphemism in any way—I just want to see your pop culture tattoos or ink inspired by math, science, or whatever to include in future editions of Inked Wednesday. You can leave me links to your tattoos in the comments, tag or mention me on Instagram, or send photos to me on Twitter. If you’re a tattoo artist, feel free to share your work. If you’re not a tattoo artist, let me know who added your permanent art to your skin.
