Tattoos inspired by pop culture are commonplace. Obviously. Inked Wednesday wouldn’t exist without them. Pop culture isn’t just about books, comics, games, television, and films anymore though. It’s also about the Internet at large, including memes, characters, and viral images. Grumpy Cat and Doge tattoos exist, someone has a tattoo of the Left Shark from the Super Bowl halftime show, and most recently someone got #TheDress tattooed onto his leg:
Is it black and blue or white and gold? Daniel Howland told BuzzFeed he got the tattoo because “I keep up with all the social memes and hysteria and whatever, and this is the only one that I really couldnât wrap my brain around. So I just decided to do it.â
None of the other tattoos in this week’s gallery are inspired by the Internet, but I’m sure I’ll come across more in the future. Keep scrolling to see ink from Guardians of the Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda, and more.
