Inked Wednesday #112 – IRON GIANT, DUNE, and More Geeky Tattoos

I admit to being relatively new to the awesomeness that is The Iron Giant, but since I saw it over the summer, I’ve realized there isn’t enough Iron Giant in the world at large. I’m glad The Art of the Iron Giant was released this fall, and I’m even happier to see this tattoo submitted by Kirsty. It’s black and white except for the eyes, and I think it’s moody and beautiful—there’s so much emotion in his metal face.

If you want to see more tattoos by Kat Scarlet, you can follow her on Instagram or Facebook. She’s based in Melbourne, Australia. She has lot of colorful animal designs in her portfolio.

Take a trip to the gallery below for more nerdy tattoos. This week, you’ll find Boba Fett, a Fremen inspired by Dune (this is particularly relevant given the recent exciting development about the franchise), rad ink from The Walking Dead, and some Hello Kitty Star Wars tats (they are rather adorable).

If you have geeky tattoos on your skin or you’re a tattoo artist that applies pop culture, STEM, music, or other nerd-inspired ink on a regular basis, then please hit me up because I’d like to highlight you in a future Inked Wednesday gallery. You can get in touch with me via email at [email protected]. Send me photos of the tattoos you’d like me to feature and don’t forget to let me know the name of your tattoo artist if you have it, as well the name of the shop he or she works out of. If you are the tattoo artist, give me links to your portfolios and/or Instagram accounts so I can share them.
