INJUSTICE 2 Reveals First Group of DLC Fighters and Teases the Rest

Later this month, Injustice 2 will launch with a much larger cast of playable DC heroes and villains than the original Injustice: Gods Among Us. But NetherRealm Studios is far from done, and there will be at least nine additional fighters released as DLC. The first three additions have been revealed, and we think that DC fans will be very happy.

In a newly released video, NetherRealm announced that the next three Injustice 2 characters will be Starfire, Red Hood, and Sub-Zero. Within the DC universe, Starfire is an alien princess and one of the leading members of the (Teen) Titans. Red Hood is Jason Todd, the second Robin, who was resurrected after his death at the hands of the Joker. And of course, Sub-Zero hails from the Mortal Kombat universe, and he’s also one of the most popular characters in that franchise.

While we’re excited to see the new additions to the game’s roster, the most intriguing part of this video came in the closing seconds. As the first trio of fighters stood in the foreground, the remaining six DLC characters appeared in the shadows behind them.

Injustice 2 DLC Fighters shadows

There are at least two characters who are instantly identifiable: Black Manta on the left side and Mortal Kombat‘s Raiden on the right side. There’s at least one female character among the unrevealed fighters, and some fans have speculated that it may be Vixen. Although we’re hoping that it’s a dark horse choice like Lady Shiva. Since she isn’t wearing a cape, we can probably rule out Batgirl. The stocky character to the left of Raiden could be Azrael; although we’d love to see Etrigan the Demon in that slot. As for the two figures standing near Black Manta on the left side, there simply isn’t enough information to go on.

The first group of Injustice 2 DLC characters will be available within the next few months, but a release date hasn’t been announced yet.
