In-N-Out Pie is Over 6,000 Calories of Meaty Deliciousness

If looks could kill, the sight of this six-thousand-calorie In-N-Out Pie would make arteries everywhere shiver in terror.

Created by members of the Foodbeast crew, the idea for this glorious monstrosity (what else can you call something that has a cross-section like the above picture?) came about while they were enjoying a sweat in a sauna. Naturally, steaming led to dreaming, and soon after their sweaty sesh ended, they had picked up a trio of 4×4’s (a burger with four patties and three slices of cheese), 3 sides of fries, and a couple of “no one likes to cook hangry” back-up burgers.

In order to maintain the “visual integrity of the burgers,” as well as deliver the textural consistencies of a normal pie, the foodie Frankensteins diced up the 4×4’s into little cubes and laid them into a pie crust they had pre-made. They then covered that burger filling with beaten eggs and half-and-half cream, baked it in the oven for 30 minutes, took it out, topped it with “slices of cheese, fries, more cheese, and grilled onions” and then baked it for another 10 minutes. By the time they pulled the finished product out, one can only assume that Cheech and Chong, the guys from Grandma’s Boy, and Seth Rogen all understood intuitively that something wonderful had been born into this world.

But to truly grasp the magnitude of the caloric disturbance in the Force that is the In-N-Out Pie, one must crunch the numbers along with the fries. Although Foodbeast doesn’t give a specific number of calories or grams of fat, with a bit of quick and savory sleuthing, some idea of the total energy density of this bad boy is possible:

3 4×4’s (3,150 calories, 207 grams of fat) + 3 sides of fries (1,185 calories, 54 grams of fat) + 1 pre-made pie crust (864 calories, 52 grams of fat) + 5 slices of American cheese (350 calories, 22.5 grams of fat) = 5,549 calories, 335.5 grams of fat. And these numbers don’t include the grilled onions, eggs, half-and-half cream, and sauce that would all certainly push the dish over 6,000 calories.
