If Tim Burton Made FROZEN, It Would Totally Look Like This Amazing Fan Art

Does the Internet love anything more than when two obsessive fandoms collide? In the visual sense, perhaps not. Given the supremely enthusiastic nature of the fandoms behind Disney’s Frozen and the mad genius that is Tim Burton, the creation of a creepy, crawly, yet totally adorable take on Anna and Elsa feels like a truly natural mash-up fit. And thankfully, artist Yoko Ney has given us just that.

Already adept at the world of Disney-styled visual art (you can check out her Tumblr for other takes on a veritable smorgasbord of mouse house characters), Yoko captured the stand-out creative flair of Burton’s signature style in such a way that it elevates the creepy sweetness that permeated the original film. Especially when you consider the tragedy that’s at the center of the film. (You know, that whole ‘the girls lost their parents when they were very young in a terrible and unexpected sailing accident before either of them really had a chance to grow’ thing.)

Highlighting the film’s attempts to portray its latest princesses with a bigger dose of commonality, Burton’s creepy, jagged lines amplifies that sentiment to a delightful degree. In Yoko’s Tim Burton-ized hands, Anna’s exhaustion reads as disheveled and disastrous as we all have felt at one time or another. And Hans’ evil inner machinations are brought to life with two-faced duality. It’s all very Nightmare Before Christmas. In fact we daresay Jack Skellington would have the total hots for Elsa in this iteration, and Zero the ghost dog would have a total bromance with wee snowperson Olaf. It’s all just sorta precious and creepily adorable, isn’t it?
