I Would Eat That: Candy Blood Slides

Before I start, I’d like to apologize for my sad absence on this here blog. Things have been super crazy over here at the Oehring compound, but I’ve got some awesome entries cooked up (bazinga) that I can’t wait to share with y’all soon enough. Now all I need is to not be broke so I can afford ingredients woooo!

Looking for something morbid AND delicious for your next Halloween gathering/Superbowl party/Passover seder, and can’t afford a zombie cake? These fun bloody slide lollipops are just the ticket!

Inspired by Dexter, in which the main character collects souvenirs of his murders in the form of drops of blood on microscope slides, these bloody candy slides are one of those things that I wish I had thought of. They also kind of make me want to watch Dexter.

Full instructions, including nifty pictures of each step in the process, are available on Forkable.

After watching the first 2 seasons of Dexter on streaming netflix recently, I’d totally do this. If making hard candy wasn’t such a pain in the ass thing to do 🙂

  2. You know, I was thinking of going as Dexter for Halloween, and this might have just sealed it. Perfect accessory. Just need to buy a wooden box!

That is truly cool!–As is Dexter, from the few episodes I have been fortunate enough to watch for free.
