Boy, Hugh Jackman is out there straight-up saying everything fans want to hear when it comes to Wolverine and Fox’s X-Men franchise. First, the actor revealed that he’d love to see the character make his way into the Avengers films, and now he’s saying that he’s no longer sure that he’ll be done with old tough and hairy after Wolverine 3 in 2017.
In the past, Jackman has hinted that the character would likely be recast once his contract was up with Fox – and it’s not hard to see why: between X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016 and the second Wolverine sequel, he’ll have played Wolverine across nine movies and 17 years. That’s a staggering period of time for any actor to stick with one character.
But speaking with Screenrant, the 45-year-old actor says Days of Future Past has got him thinking that he might have a few more movies as the character in him.
âAt one point, youâre right, I said I was pretty sure [that ‘Wolverine 3′ would be my last outing in the role]. But Iâm less sure as it goes along. Because after seeing this movie, the whole thing feels fresher to me than ever. And during this movie⦠I donât want to spoil anything, but itâs kind of like a clean slate, so who knows where itâs going to go. As long as I have the passion for it and the fans will have me.â
And now that he’s thinking about Logan’s future, the actor has thoughts about some of those future matchups. And one of those involves Deadpool, who was, shall we say, mishandled in Wolverine: Origins. Jackman knows it, telling IGN he’d like Fox to take another stab at the Merc with a mouth:
âWe sort of took a pretty strong choice on Deadpool, where we kind of stitched him up. And I love the character of Deadpool and I think that the sort of badass, fast-talking, funny, annoying Deadpool vs Wolverine would still be cool. Weâve sort of done it, but I think we could have done that much better.â
You hear that, Fox? Hugh Jackman wants Wolverine vs. Deadpool to happen and we couldn’t agree more.

Listen to Mr. Jackman. Everyone knows that Deadpool’s best weapon consists of his annoying puns. So why would they sew his dang mouth up?!
it’s because Stryker wanted him silenced and the computer takeover made Wade even more vulgar than before the Weapon X project…
Wade vs. Logan would be sweet! I like that Hugh is saying all this fanboy stuff. On a side note, I think if the 3 studios that do the big Marvel movies teamed up and made a super epic Marvel movie that movie would make huge bucks. Enough for Dis, Fox, and Sony to be happy. I know it’s never gonna happen though.
There’s actually a Change.org petition for a Deadpool movie!
