How X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Could, and Probably Should Have Ended

Last summer, there were many films that blew us away, but one that many never saw coming was X-Men: Days of Future Past. After two mediocre and two acceptable films following the departure of original franchise director Bryan Singer, many wondered if Singer could re-capture the magic he found back in 2000 for his re-entry to the series. Even more so, many wondered if Singer could bring the action and suspense required for such a complex storyline as Days of Future Past. Surprisingly though, Singer did that and so much more when he delivered, arguably, the best X-Men film to date, while also breathing fresh life into a post-Marvel super hero franchise many thought was on its last legs.

However, for all its excellence, there are still some plot-holes we can poke fun at, the most egregious of which being the disappearance of Quicksilver following what was, without a doubt, the best scene of the film. Just what would have happened if Charles had brought Peter along to Paris after breaking Magneto out of prison? Well, thankfully, someone has finally answered that question:

Days of Future Past was a great film with a lot to love, but infallible it was not. There was definitely a feeling of absence when it ended, specifically concerning Quicksilver. But it’s possible that has more to do with FOX never expecting the character to become the fan favorite of the film. As it turns out, one good scene can make a character shine after all.

With any luck, the hole of Quicklsilver’s absence will be filled next year when X-Men: Apocalypse finally hits theaters.
