How About A Mario Inspired Song Parody To Make Your Day?

It’s hard to imagine anything could possibly top the amazing viral video from earlier this week featuring Weird Al as Sir Isaac Newton in a rap battle with “Bill Nye” and “Neil deGrasse Tyson,” but, if there’s one thing the internet loves to do, it’s trying to top itself, and that’s where this new Mario inspired parody of OneRepublic’s “Love Runs Out” by The Warp Zone comes into play:

Titled “Lives Run Out,” this video encompasses what it means to be a dedicated Mario gamer. Killing goombas, collecting gold, running from boos, taking out Bowser, yelling at mom to just leave you alone; this is what it’s like to play Mario. These guys get it.

The best part of the video is how it takes us on a quick stroll down memory lane of all the various iterations of the character that have come out since his first appearance in 1981’s Donkey Kong. Heck, they even included Luigi’s Mansion–that’s some stellar nostalgia wrangling right there.

What we’re wondering now is if the internet takes requests, because we seriously want to see an Epic Rap Battle of History with Weird Al taking on the role of Mario, battling his brother Luigi, or Bowser, or Boo, or a goomba, or anything really. Just get out of our room so we can watch. Seriously, go away mom!

You think the internet will give us a Luigi-specific parody any time soon? Let us know in the comments below!
