Hot Toys Releases New Movie Accurate Baby Groot Collectible

The world is a happier place with more Groot in it, and Hot Toys is spreading the joy by releasing a new quarter-scale Little Groot figure. Before you ask, no, this version of baby Groot doesn’t dance. But look at that face and the little arms! He’s adorable enough without swaying back and forth. Plus, this means you can pose him in your favorite moves from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Hot Toys is known for making collectibles that look like their subjects to an uncanny degree, and it looks as though they’ve achieved that here. They’ve nailed three different Little Groot expressions, his twig hair looks just right, and even the pot matches what we saw on screen. Trust me, I know. I turn to the clip of dancing Groot over and over again when I’m feeling stressed because it’s impossible to watch it and not smile.

Take a closer look at this tiny figure:

Ready for the technical details? The Groot quarter scale figure is approximately 4.75 inches or 12 centimeters tall. It comes with three interchangeable heads and moveable arms and body so you can re-create every moment of baby Groot’s dance off. I predict there will be many stop motion YouTube videos in our future. Finally, the figure has a “special paint application reflecting Little Groot’s unique appearance.” I’m not quite sure what that means, but here’s what I know: I’ve unboxed and displayed several Hot Toys figures and I’ve yet to be disappointed. They consistently amaze me with their ability to capture likenesses and personality in their sculpts.

Little Groot is available for pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles for $44.99. I’ve placed my order. Will you be buying a tiny Groot of your own?

I’ve seen a few dancing Groot’s fan made cannibalising from those sound activated flowers, also one had just a built in speaker playing that song on a loop.

  5. Jennifer says:

If it danced when you held it up to the radio like those toys every early 90s kid had, it would be amazing. Figurine? Not so much.
