HOT TOYS Releases 1/4 SCALE BATMAN and JOKER Figures for THE DARK KNIGHT’s Anniversary

It’s hard to believe that almost a decade has passed since the release of The Dark Knight, which many still feel is the greatest superhero movie of all time, featuring a performance that will never be surpassed in Heath Ledger’s Joker. For Hot Toys, it is also a time to celebrate a decade of excellence, as it is the 10-year anniversary of the collaboration between painting artist JC. Hong and Yulli. They created the first 1/6 scale Joker figure for Hot Toys, and have gone on to create more uncannily lifelike figures over the years. To commemorate this epic team-up, they have designed a 1/4 scale figure of the Clown Prince of Crime.

Standing 47cm tall, this amazing figure looks exactly like the late Heath Ledger in his portrayal of Batman’s greatest enemy. The figure comes with a joker playing card, his “magic trick” pencil, a detonator, various guns, his grenade jacket, and various hand molds. The coolest feature that comes with it, however, has to be the optional head mold that has the Joker makeup wearing off, depicting both the character and the actor at the same time.

To complement the Joker figure, Hot Toys will also be releasing a 1/4 scale figure of Batman from Batman Begins.

Featuring the classic costume worn by Christian Bale in the first movie, this figure comes with a grapple gun, a Joker card in an evidence bag, an optional Christian Bale head mold, and a ski mask to create his “Ninja-Man” outfit, as well as a commemorative stand.

Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy is still revered by many, and what better way to show that reverence than by adding these awesome figures to your collection.

You can check out more pictures of these figures in the gallery below, and can pre-order both from Hot Toys’ U.S. distributor, Sideshow Collectibles, on their website here and here, respectively.

So what do you think? Will you be picking up one (or both) of these figures? Who do YOU think is the definite Joker? Let me know on Twitter or be an agent of chaos on the comments below.
