Sources (okay, the Ghost of Walt Disney) say that the trailer for Maleficent drops tomorrow, but in the meantime feast your eyes on the heavily-photoshopped visage of Angelina Jolie as the classic Sleeping Beauty villainess brought to life in the next Disney tale.
The movie comes out May 30, 2014, and though we’ve yet to see footage from the film, Disney describes it as “the untold story of Disneyâs iconic villain revealing the events that hardened Maleficentâs heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.”
The film stars Jolie as Maleficent, plus Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville.  Linda Woolverton wrote the screenplay, which couldn’t have been an easy job because, let’s face it, Maleficent’s biggest foe is a newborn baby.

Haha! HAS Kumail seen this? hehe 🙂
Very interesting. With very little information to go on, I’m inclined to wonder if it’s going to be a “Wicked” style re-envisioning of the character, effectively making her the protagonist. If done well, those kind of stories can be very good, turning a “known” tale on its ear with a different perspective. Very curious how this turns out.
