Holy Cats, New GAME OF THRONES Fan Video Basically Confirms a Very Exciting, Spoiler-y Thing

We don’t like to say “I told you so!” but in this case we will. Because a recently uploaded behind-the-scenes fan video from the fifth season of Game of Thrones — currently filming all over the dang world — has all but confirmed something we suspected about the upcoming storylines. Particularly when it comes to our beloved Daenerys Targaryen.

It should go without say but run away now — like right, right now! — if you don’t want to be spoiled on a pretty major book occurrence with brand spanking new implications for the televised storylines. OK? OK.

Now that we’ve got that settled, let’s get into it. Remember this weekend when we saw new photos from Daznak’s Pit? And we were all excited about how Dany’s wedding was not only going to happen this season, but that Tyrion and Ser Jorah would be in attendance (something that does not happen in the books)? Well add another excitement layer to that deviation from page to screen, because it looks like Drogon’s return to Meereen will happen in the upcoming new season of Game of Thrones. Finally, someone from Westeros will witness the epic reality that dragons have returned to the Realm after many, many years without them, and they’re cranky as hell about it.

Guess all those scared Meereenese actually were fleeing Drogon’s wrath.

Filming in Osuna, Spain, recently wrapped and the production ended all of that work with quite the metaphorical bang. That fire work speaks to a seriously large and in charge Drogon, don’t you think? And, man oh man we can’t hardly wait to see Tyrion’s face when he sees the beastly bad-dragon in real life. Westeros has no idea what’s comin’ for ’em.

What do you think about this development? Think this’ll be the season finale? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

  1. blackcats29 says:

Prediction: The major event in the “big ninth” episode for this season will be the fighting pit/return of Drogon.  The last episode will drop that Jon Snow thing.

  2. Dimitrius says:

The realm hasn’t seen a dragon in “thousands of years”, more like 150 years.

  3. John says:

Has to be the finale. I know things are going to deviate more and more from the books, but it would be going into completely uncharted terrirory for Dany if it wasn’t in the finale or penultimate episode. maybe it is the end of the penultimate and you spend the whole finale wondering where she went, allowing the season to end where Dance of Dragons ends.

I sure hope Winds of Winter gets out before this season starts!
