Remember the creative guru who made a pumpkin pie shaped like a carriage for Thanksgiving? The same one who turned her parents house into a green-eyed monster for Halloween? Yeah, we think it’s safe to say that Christine McConnell is an artist who goes big or goes home. This holiday season, she’s going all out again by giving her parents’ house (which already looks like it’s plucked right out of a fairytale) another magical makeover: gingerbread style!
That’s right, this gal created a giant confectionary gingerbread house, complete with peppermint bushes and lollipop lawn ornaments out front. Hey, she even roped her niece and nephew into posing as Hansel and Gretal, as you can see above. There’s no denying that the house looks perfect and delicious… want to go to there.
See that white lacey stuff on the roof? That’s a nylon rope net that McConnell strung up herself (as evidenced below), to mimic an iced roof. Now, that’s some serious (risky) dedication to craft.
McConnell told ABC News that the gingerbread men are her favorite part about the house, and we might have to agree. Plus, given McConnell’s solid experience with snacks of the sweet variety (she just wrote a book called Deceptive Desserts which is available for pre-order), you can bet that they taste as good as they look.Â
