Here’s What Comes with DARK SOULS III’s ASHES OF ARIANDEL Expansion

You might want to pack a heavy coat for Dark Souls III‘s new Ashes of Ariandel expansion because things are about to get frosty. After the news leaked yesterday, Bandai Namco has finally revealed the first of two planned expansions for From Software‘s critically acclaimed title. The expansions will include new weapons, armor sets, enemies, and magic, along with (best of all) a brand new location and several terrifying boss fights to test your skills. Feast your eyes on the icy, action-packed trailer above for a better look at what to expect.

Magic

Players will have to battle their way through the frozen land of Ariandel to uncover a terrible secret. As we’ve become accustomed to in the Dark Souls games, the gameplay shown off in the video looks incredibly brutal. Several of the boss fights highlighted in the trailer look like they’ll challenge even veteran Souls enthusiasts. I can’t wait.

Those who enjoy multiplayer will also have brand new features to mess with, though the specifics have yet to be shared. And those already engrossed in the dark, twisted tale shared in Dark Souls III will be happy to know that the lore will also be expanded upon.

Enemy_1

You can nab this new expansion starting October 25 for $14.99 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Want both expansions while saving a couple of bucks? The season pass is also available for $24.99, which is a pretty good deal as it will include both pieces of DLC for five dollars cheaper. The second expansion is currently slated for an early 2017 release date.

What do you think about these new features? Are you still grinding through Dark Souls III? Which Souls games is your favorite? Slash your thoughts onto the comments section below!
