Here’s the Biggest and Best Robert Downey Jr. IRON MAN Figure You’ll Ever Need

There have been many Iron Man figures and statues before, but Marvel’s armored Avenger has never had anything quite like this: Sideshow Collectibles has unveiled Hot Toys‘ upcoming Iron Man Mark XLII Quarter Scale figure, and it puts all of the previous Iron Men to shame. (At least until they do a life-size version, which somehow seems inevitable.)

This figure is based on the primary armor that Tony Stark wore in Iron Man 3, and it also features a detailed likeness of Robert Downey Jr. underneath the armor. At 20 inches, it’s taller than most statues, and it has 40 points of articulation, which is far more than standard action figures typically get. Iron Man 3 Mark XLII full figure

The level of detail on this figure is really amazing, and it features LED lights on Iron Man’s helmet, arc reactor, and repulsors, as well as interchangeable heads and battle damaged armor. It’s probably too pricey to play with, but as you can see in our gallery below, it can be placed in numerous positions to recreate some of the iconic poses from Iron Man 3.

You don’t have to be Tony Stark to afford this figure, but it might help. Sideshow is charging $544.99 plus tax and shipping for the Iron Man Mark XLII Collectible Figure. That is definitely not cheap, but fans can opt for a payment plan to spread out the pain a little bit. This is aimed at high end collectors, but it looks like it’s worth every penny. There isn’t currently a firm release date for this figure, but it’s estimated to ship in early 2017, and you can preorder it here.
