‘Helicopter Dad’ Pulls His Son’s Tooth Out with a (Surprise!) Helicopter

“Helicopter Dad” Rick Rahim wants to make sure his kids have “much much much more fun” than he did as a kid, which is probably the reason he took a rope, tied one of its ends to his son’s loose tooth, and the other to a 1,000 horsepower twin engine, jet-fueled helicopter.

Because that sounds like fun, right?

Seriously, though, the tooth fairy is going to have to undergo some kind of Weapon X mutation to keep up with Rahim, and this brand new, surprisingly (almost) bloodless method for extracting those deciduous dentals — a.k.a. baby teeth.

The video above, which was covered by Popular Mechanics, shows the entire procedure — which is essentially dentistry done Mission Impossible style — from the moment Rahim’s assistant(?) on the ground hooks the rope around the little boy’s tiny tooth until said tooth makes its silent and exceptionally pleasant exit from his mouth. Although there may have been some minor screams because that chopper is loud (but there were probably no screams!)

As far as safety, Rahim points out at the end of the video that he has over 1,000 hours as a helicopter pilot, and that he was constantly moving the chopper away from the human beings (get away from the choppa!). His epic entrance at the beginning of the video and use of Richard Wagner’s “Flight of the Valkyries” probably didn’t augment any safety levels, however, but again, the point here was the fun!

And for even more fun, give us your thoughts on this mental dentistry. Was this even crazier than the time somebody taught Neil deGrasse Tyson a physics lesson with an emergency helicopter landing? Let us know in the comments below!
