Hear the Tenors of Forte Sing Their GAME OF THRONES Opera!

Given the subject matter and popularity of Game of Thrones, it’s hard to believe it’s taken this long for a first-rate opera music video to emerge that’s inspired by George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire. But the three tenors of Forte have taken it upon themselves to give us exactly that. So sit back and enjoy singers Josh Page, Sean Pannikar, and Hana Ryu as they transport us to the Seven Kingdoms, and sing an original set of lyrics to accompany composer Ramin Djawadi’s main title theme for the HBO megahit… In High Valyrian no less!

Man, those fellows really want the official collectible set of Game of Thrones dragon eggs… For more on these guys, check out the Forte Tenors website. Here’s the lyrics they’re singing above, in both High Valyrian and English…

GAME OF THRONES // CHAOS IS A LADDER

When you play the Game Of Thrones, you win or you die.
Skorī dēmalȳti tymptir tymis, ērinis iā morghūlis.
When you play the Game Of Thrones, you win or you die.
Skorī dēmalȳti tymptir tymis, ērinis iā morghūlis.
I will take what is mine.
Ñuhor līr gūrēnna.
What do we say to death?
Skoros morghot vestri?
Not Today.
Tubī daor.
Yes? NO
Kessa? DAOR
The night is dark and full of terrors.
Bantis zōbrie issa se ossȳngnoti lēdys.

Of course no one will ever top “Weird Al” Yankovic‘s performance at last year’s Emmy Awards, when he sang his own lyrics to the Game of Thrones theme, assisted by fellow funnyman Andy Samberg. The fun starts at the 1:37 mark in his suite of TV theme songs…

And don’t forget to check out our new Nerdist Presents, “Black Page,” which teams George R.R. Martin and Taylor Swift.

What do you guys think? Does Forte do the show justice? Let us know below.
