Hear a New SUICIDE SQUAD Song from Mark Ronson and Dan Auerbach

Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad. Those are the two words on everyone’s minds right now. After so many posters, clips, and dead pigs sent via Jared Leto, the much-hyped film finally arrives on Friday. In anticipation of all the entertaining supervillain debauchery in store, the Suicide Squad team revealed a track from its upcoming soundtrack. As NME reports, this one’s a heavy-hitting collaboration between The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and surname rhyme buddies, Mark Ronson and Action Bronson.

The track, which debuted today on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show, features samples from Oran “Juice” Jones’ 1986 hit, “The Rain.” Atop those old school beats are Bronson’s incisive verse, Auerbach’s bluesy voice, Ronson’s pop sensibilities, and a smooth Danger Mouse-esque production.

Ronson appeared on the show to talk about how the track ended up in the film. “It just never had a home. We didn’t finish it in time for Bronson’s record, it really wasn’t right for mine, and then they heard it for the movie,” he explained. “They dug it and they put it in this great scene with Will Smith and his character [Deadshot].”

The producer didn’t actually get to see the film, or even the “great scene” with Deadshot, but he’s as pumped about Suicide Squad as the rest of the world. “It’s obviously one of the movies I’m most psyched about seeing.”

The new track appears fourth on a soundtrack (full tracklist below) that features a ton of big names. Skrillex. Eminem. Even CCR makes an appearance. Check out the new track above, let us know your thoughts in the comments, and we’ll see you at the theater on Friday!
