Hayley Atwell Wants to Be DOCTOR WHO and We Say Yes Please

Of all the infinite outcomes of time and space, we were lucky enough to land in a timeline wherein Hayley Atwell is famous, acting, and dominating dubsmash competitions. And now she’s gone ahead and blown our mind all the more with the revelation that she would like to volunteer as tribute and become the first female Doctor on Doctor Who, which we dare say is cooler than fezzes, bowties, and fish fingers and custard combined. (Sorry not sorry, Matt Smith.)

Agent Peggy Carter herself made her ambitions known during a lil’ impromptu Twitter chat with fans on Friday. The only reason we’re getting around to writing about it now rather than when it happened is because we’ve been too busy fangirling over the prospect of someone as badassedly hilarious and wonderfully zany as Atwell helming the TARDIS.

I mean C’MON. RIGHT? How could we not want someone as spectacularly irreverent, silly, and badass running through all of time and space? Imagine her battling against Michelle Gomez’s Master. The wit-offs would be incredible, no?

We know that showrunner Steven Moffat‘s already opened the door for a female regeneration of the world’s favorite Time Lord, and the aforementioned Gomez has already proven it can be pulled off with aplomb. So maybe that regenerative time should be now(ish—meaning whenever Capaldi decides it’s time to hang up his sonic screwdriver). She’s already a proven force when it comes to kicking ass and taking names when running alongside superheroes, so why not have her battle a few aliens for a change, eh?

Someone make this happen. Please, please, please, please, please, PLEASE? Like, pretty please/seriously/oh my god no but really?

Who would you like to see as her companion? Any other fan-castings you’d approve of? Let’s hear ’em in the comments.
