At their Comic-Con panel today, Hasbro announced that will be bringing an all-new animated series based on the highly beloved Transformers property to popular media streaming site Machinima. The series will launch with a story set during the Combiner Wars storyline that has been a major part of the IDW Comics Transformers series. This new animated series will be brought to life by Machinima’s Many2Many programming services, and will introduce new characters and lore alongside the decades-old favorites that Transformers fans expect. Audiences can expect the same level of explosive action and signature humor that Transformers has provided in the past in a series that Hasbro says is “specifically designed for the teenage and adult fans who have grown up with Transformers.”
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring one of the biggest franchises in the world to Machinima,” said Machinimaâs Chief Creative Officer Daniel Tibbets. “Our audiences are huge fans of the comics, movies, toys and video games, and for us to continue the legend with the Combiner Wars is a unique storytelling opportunity.” Senior Vice President for Hasbro’s Transformer’s franchise, Tom Warner, couldn’t agree more.  âWeâre thrilled to be teaming up with Machinima on this groundbreaking, new digital series. As one of the top global producers and distributors of digital entertainment, theyâre the perfect partner to help launch a totally new kind of Transformers animation.”
There was no specific launch date for the series announced, but be on the lookout for more information as it is made available. Excited for the new series? Let us know in the comments below, and also be sure to stick with Nerdist for more coverage from San Diego Comic-Con!
