Has Our DOCTOR STRANGE Infinity Stone Theory Finally Been Confirmed?

On November 5, Doctor Strange is bringing magic and alternate dimensions into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But that’s not all it’s bringing! For several months, we’ve suspected that Benedict Cumberbatch’s title character may have one of the Infinity Stones that will eventually comprise Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet in Avengers: Infinity War. In today’s Nerdist News, we examine some new evidence which may have just confirmed our theory!

Via ComicBook.com, Doctor Strange‘s prop master, Barry Gibbs, revealed that Strange’s Eye of Agamotto contains something that looks suspiciously like an Infinity Stone. Given that Cumberbatch was recently dropping hints about his appearance in Infinity War, it almost certainly means that this is what it appears to be. The question now is which Infinity Stone does Strange have?

Join Nerdist News host, and the world’s next Sorcerer Supreme, Jessica Chobot, as she lays out the notion that the Eye of Agamotto is actually the Time Stone, which tracks with our earlier prediction from the Doctor Strange trailer breakdown. And we may only be getting a tiny glimpse of the Time Stone’s true power in this film.

Surprisingly, Marvel’s Kevin Feige is downplaying Doctor Strange‘s connection to the Infinity War storyline. According to him, “we don’t get into it in this movie.” But the wording of that has us thinking that it’s being saved for a future film. And it may even be the right move for Marvel to make sure that Doctor Strange’s first solo film works as a stand alone adventure before tossing him into the deep end of the MCU.

What do you think about Doctor Strange‘s connection to Infinity War? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
