We always knew that a rogue smuggler like Han Solo could self-destruct at any moment, but we never knew it could be this bad.
Harrison Ford went on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss The Force Awakens, and before you knew it a perfectly good Han Solo action figure had become another victim of the Star Wars tradition of appendage removal.
Ford was injured on The Force Awakens set during filming. When Fallon asked if it was true something had fallen on him, Ford âwhisperedâ to the host that âthey closed a f***ing door on me.â So Fallon took out a Han Solo action figure to let Ford show what the injury was. Ford explained that he dislocated his ankle and how then âthey broke this leg!â He then proceeded to lose his mind, tearing at the doll bearing his likeness while Fallon screamed it was an original. By the time Ford was done, the miniature Han Solo had suffered severe damage, and also lost his pants. Ford didnât want to talk about âthat accident,â but he did caution against using an amateur mohel.
Besides destroying a toy, Fallon and Ford also created the âJ.J. Abrams spit-take,â which should be mandatory from this point forward for anyone discussing the director.
My math might be slightly off, but I believe this is the 400th talk show Harrison Ford has done in the last month, so kudos to him for finding new ways to keep these interviews fresh, especially when he canât really talk about the movie outside of some platitudes and general gushing. It also helps that he is an extremely animated individual or playing the part of âold crazy manâ so wonderfully. Either way, I hope he does 400 more in the next two weeks.
