Harley Quinn Makes Voice Cameo on ARROW

Last night on Arrow, fans of the DCU were treated to a really fun Easter egg: a voice cameo by Tara Strong playing “Deranged Squad Female,” but most fans recognized the voice as none other than Miss Harley Quinn.

Harley Quinn is the lady love of the Clown Prince of Crime, the Joker, and has been featured heavily in Batman animated series, comics, and video game adaptations since her inception in 1992. Strong voiced the character in the game adaptation Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Origins, and Infinite Crisis. She is also the voice of the character in the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight.

Does this quick appearance signal a hint of things to come for Quinn on The CW? Not so fast, says Arrow EP and writer Marc Guggenheim, who told Collider, “I want to manage expectations with respect to Harley Quinn. She was always intended to be an Easter egg. I don’t want people to go in with incorrect expectations….”

Either way, it was fun to at least hear a nod to one of the most bad-ass lady supervillains in all of Gotham City. And who knows? Maybe if not on The CW, Quinn could find herself on Fox sometime soon

Arrow airs on The CW on Wednesday nights.

I don’t think Sherrill make a good harly

  2. Joe Centorbi says:

DC never bought GOLD KEY. CAPTAIN MARVEL was never owned by GOLD KEY.

  3. Devon says:

I knew that was Harley Quinn’s voice the moment I heard her and all my friends doubted me saying it could be anybody, but I am a diehard Harley fan and I knew. Thanks for confirming my suspicions

    • Diggle says:

Technically it wasn’t. Tera strong wasn’t voicing Harley till arkham city. The real Harley is Arleen sorkin

  4. Justin says:

IMO Harley Quin was a timeline setting for the episode titled ‘Night Wing’ to establish that we are far enough along in Batman’s timeline that HQ is under Waller’s custody and not a Joker minion, and that Nightwing is already an established Vigilante.

  5. jerm says:

well, to be fair.. Green Arrow waa originally a Bat Man knock-off. This was very common and when Detective Comics bought up Gold Key and a bunch of others, they bought numerous copycat or similar characters. GA was one.. Captain Marvel was another and had even been part of a lawsuit that DC filed against Gold Key for being a Superman ripoff. Funny thing too, this was addressed in a GA issue when he teams up with Batman. Batman notes his names for vehicles and placesband calls him on it.. Batman: Arrow car? Arrow cave? Green Arrow: Hey, I was a fan!

stealing my rogues gallery including harley
one of the most interesting things about this harley cameo on arrow is the fact she is exponentially more popular than the titular character
yet the producers have now teased her and are walking away from introducing her wth dc?

  7. Dan says:

Yes, It was fun and I love the hints to the greater DC universe but my problem with the show Arrow is they are trying so hard to make him Batman.

  8. Jay says:

i doubt the would introduce Harley without The Joker – he create sher after all, and I doubt they would sink so low as to add a throwaway “oh yeah, remember that Joker supervillain a few years ago?” line. Now – Gotham would be a great fit for them both.
