STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII Will Definitely Have [SPOILER] in It

We already knew it was happening, but still: it’s nice to get a confirmation straight from the chromehorse’s mouth. Months after Kathleen Kennedy let it slip that Captain Phasma would be back for more (before the dang movie even came out, at that!), actress Gwendoline Christie has confirmed herself that the Star Wars universe would not lack the underutilized Dark Sider in forthcoming installments of the epic space opera franchise.

In an interview with People, the Game of Thrones actress offhandedly mentioned the fact, stating most definitively: “I will be in the next Star Wars movie. I think that’s an exclusive, actually.”

Of course, fans who’ve already seen The Force Awakens—and if you haven’t, please turn away now, because spoilers—will have plenty of time to speculate just how in the heck Phasma managed to get off the Starkiller Base before it went all kablewwy. Did she say “Eff this!” and board a ship for somewhere less First Order-y? Did her suit reflect all the explosives and catapult her into a deep sleep somewhere in the middle of the galaxy? Could it, perhaps, be something else far more badass and interesting and less terrible than what we just came up with in two seconds? (One can only hope, frankly.)

Either way: mysteries abound! How do you think Phasma escaped the death of the Starkiller Base? Do you want to see more of her in Episode VIII? Leave your theories in the comments below!
