As Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones, Gwendoline Christie has shown the world she knows how to kick some butt. We don’t even know what Captain Phasma’s motivations in The Force Awakens are yet and we’re already prepared to see her cause some damage.
When she decides to take a break from holding a sword or a blaster, she spends her time being absolutely delightful, as this interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub proves.
Since cast members are still on lockdown as to the details of the film, topics had to cover other aspects of the Star Wars universe. She starts off with giving her position on droids and gender, followed by answering the almost two-decade old question, “Who shot first?” Don’t worry everyone, she got it right.
After talking about what color lightsaber she would have, Steve asked if she could do impressions of Chewie, Jabba, and J.J. Abrams. Gwendoline said she would only do Chewie, and gave one of the best impressions I have ever heard. NOT because of how accurate it was to our favorite Wookiee, but the passion and commitment she gave in performing it. You could tell she knew it wasn’t the best, but she was having too much fun to care.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters December 18.
So what do you think? Does Christie have a career as an impressionist? Why was she afraid to give her J.J. impression? Let me know what you think on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
