Guillermo del Toro loves his toys. If you’ve had a chance to check out his traveling exhibit, or see glimpses of his home, you know it’s filled with all sorts of monsters and props, the likes of which a mere action figure collector can only dream of. But now Guillermo, and everyone else who attends San Diego Comic-Con, will have a chance to add one more unique monster to the collection: del Toro himself!

Entertainment Weekly debuted the first look at the figure from NECA, done in the company’s Mego-style “Retro-Action” format that allows for a generic doll body to be easily customized into classic characters with cloth costumes. Del Toro will become part of their Guillermo del Toro collection line, which is scheduled to include more traditional action figures based on Pan’s Labyrinth and The Devil’s Backbone. Sorry, no Hellboy; they can only do the properties del Toro owns outright.

For an accessory, the director comes with an in-scale notebook featuring his notes and sketches for Pan’s Labyrinth. Supplies will be limited to 2,000, and the price tag on this is $40. But take it from an experienced con-goer: NECA tends to be the only booth that still doesn’t accept plastic for payment, so if you want one, have cash in hand.
