Here’s something delightful: an almost Justice-esque remix of the Game of Thrones theme song, chockablock with 1980s goodness. If you’re a fan of chair-dancing, this is the tune to get you going. And it’s all thanks to a rogue British music enthusiast/producer called Super Audio Time.
Yes, that’s right: Super Audio Time has created a synthetic and pop-laced remix so refreshingly fun and funky to the ear, it’s superseded many of other offerings out there. Which is really no small task when you consider the fact that this tune â one of the most iconic and beloved opening tracks of music ever made â has been remixed, mashed-up, and straight up parodied A LOT. And in many different ways: goats, cups, Downton Abbey enthusiasts, even a video game console. There are plenty of them to go around. But this is the most musically appealing to our babies-of-the-80s ears.
Maybe it’s the veritable wall of sound those opening chords create. Or maybe it’s just that we’re a sucker for anything that involves a popped-up, synthy keyboard situation. It could even be Super Audio Times’ choice of images, which just so happen to come from the truly incredible graphic artist, Mike Wrobel. But that’s a post for another day (But seriously we want one of everything, please).
Regardless as to why, we’re fairly certain this one will require multiple listenings from you. And maybe a spin around your bedroom floor feelin’ like you’re Syrio Forel or something.
What do you think of the remix? Let us hear it in the comments.
My only problem is that it’s TOO short!!!
Thanks for the Nightmares Game of Thrones
Except for one important thing: the heavy side-chaining, which is a thoroughly modern (and incredibly annoying) effect. Without that ridiculousness it would have been truly great.
Sounds a lil like the theme to Never Ending Story
I think I just found my new ringtone! Yeah! 🙂
Games of Goth
I’m not sure what the lyrics would be, but David Gahan would have to be the one singing them.
YES.
