Great, Drones Can Go Like a Thousand Miles an Hour Now

Ok, not faster than the speed of sound, but a lot faster than you think.

I’m not exactly a hobbyist. I mean, I play Magic: The Gathering to the point where I lose friends over it but remote-controls and drones aren’t my thing. Maybe that’s the reason I had no idea there were quadcopters able to move so fast it looks fake.

In fact, when I first saw this video bouncing around Reddit, I ignored the attention it was getting because it looked impossible. However, I sit corrected. It turns out that design groups like Quadmovr have been making drones move like bats out of hell for some time. If you think about it, putting powerful motors on a craft weighing less than a gallon of milk is going to get that quad moving pretty quick.

Still, the videos are unbelievable:

Another company, Warpquad, also designs tiny quadcopters move like lightning (or “the fastest Quadrocopter in the Universe”). It sounds like a fracking jet engine!

All those flight regulations won’t mean much if you can’t even see the darn things.
