GRAVITY FALLS Creator Alex Hirsch Is Making a New Show for Fox

When the news hit the Internet this summer that cult classic Gravity Falls would be ending its story in February of this year, fans of the show were distraught. Alex Hirsch, the show’s heart, soul, and creator, made the announcement on his Tumblr blog and gave no indication what or when his next creative venture would be. The wait, however, is over. Variety has announced that the Hirsch is creating a pilot for Fox and 20th Century Fox.

Very little is known about the new project aside from its animated nature, but fans of Gravity Falls can look forward to new and wonderful things from their favorite storyteller. Hirsch took to Twitter last night to confirm the announcement and assure everyone that things would continue getting weird for his next adventure.

That’s it. That’s literally all we know. But if you’re a fan of Gravity Falls, this will come as welcome news. The show that follows the adventures of siblings Mabel and Dipper Pines and their great uncle Stan has garnered a cultish following akin to that of Lost, thanks to the unique voice and wonderfully weird stories brought to life by Hirsch. Gravity Falls will end with an hour long finale on February 15th after 40 episodes on Disney XD.

What are you hoping to see from the beloved creator? How could things possibly get stranger or better than Gravity Falls? Tell us what you’re thinking will come from Fox with this potential new partnership in the comments below.
