Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart Kick Butt in ELECTRA WOMAN & DYNA GIRL VidCon Teaser

Back before Cartoon Network or Disney XD, the best time to watch cartoons was Saturday morning. During the 1970s, no one ruled Saturday morning cartoons like Sid and Marty Krofft. Shows like Land of the Lost and The Shazam/Isis hour kept kids occupied in the pajamas and sugar loaded cereals for hours at a time.

Another of those ’70s mainstays was Electra Woman & Dyna Girl. Starring Days of Our Lives‘ Deidre Hall, this show was a female take on the 1960s Batman.

Thanks to Legendary Digital, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl are back in a new web series starring Grace Helbig (The Grace Helbig Show) and Hannah Hart (My Drunk Kitchen). In this updated version, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl are two superheroes from Akron, OH, who move to Los Angeles with dreams of making it big in the vigilante world. They soon learn that the world of fighting crime and the world of Hollywood are very similar.

Up above we have the new teaser trailer that premiered at VidCon. This take looks to be more straight-up comedy than the “play it straight” portrayal of the ’70s version. Being led by Helbig and Hart, I am not surprised, and am excited. (Side note: I lived the first 18 years of my life right outside of Akron. I hope there is an obscure reference that only I and four other people would get.)

We will have more information of the release of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl as it becomes available.

So what do you think? Are you excited for Electra Woman and Dyna Girl? Are you clamoring for a shared universe with Land of the Lost or H.R. Pufnstuf? Let me know on Twitter or in the comments below.
