GOTHAM’S Cameron Monaghan Teases Joker Return and More TV News

It is almost the weekend. But before you slide into two days of well-deserved laziness, educate yourself on the very important topic of television news. Today’s TV-Cap has all the information you need to sound like you’re with the times at social engagements this weekend—a Joker tease for Gotham, some American Horror Story: My Roanoke Nightmare thoughts, the possible return of Killer Frost in The Flash, and more.

Laugh It Up. Cameron Monaghan is pushing the whole Gotham Jerome Joker discussion with a sound clip on Instagram. I know it doesn’t look like anything is embedded above, but there’s a play button. Press it and prepare your ears for a creepy, demented laugh. [ComicBook.com]

An Ending and Beginnings. Amazon is bringing Hand of God to an end; season two premieres next year and it will be the final season. And over on Syfy, three pilots have been picked up. They’re moving forward with Haunted, a supernatural horror-drama, Happy, based on the graphic novel by Grant Morrison and Brian Taylor, and The Machine, an adaptation of the film of the same name. All series are from Universal Cable Productions. [Deadline and Variety]

Blu-ray Conjuring. We mentioned a home release for Constantine was advertised in recent DC comic books, and now we have the official information. Constantine: The Complete Series will be available via online retailers on October 4. Besides the 13 episodes of the show, the release includes a set visit and footage from San Diego Comic-Con 2014. Knowing the Future. Mr. Robot creator and writer Sam Esmail recently spoke to Variety pre-Emmys (airing September 18) and discussed how long Mr. Robot will likely last. He has an idea of the timeline since the show was initially supposed to be a feature film. Esmail said, “I know where we’re going and the ending, so probably about four or five seasons. I like to know where we’re going and where we’re heading. I think it’s tougher if it’s open ended, my brain doesn’t work like that but hats off to those who do.” For a series as twisty and turny as Mr. Robot, I think it’s important that they do have a set ending in mind.

Casting Nets! What catches have TV series landed lately? Frequency, premiering October 5, has nabbed Curtis Armstrong for a guest starring role. Supergirl has cast Dichen Lachman, and it’s being reported that she’s playing Roulette; new episodes of Supergirl arrive on October 10. [TVLine and CBR]

Coming Together? The sixth season of American Horror Story is American Horror Story: My Roanoke Nightmare. The series is using a documentary style season, but maybe there’s more to it than focusing on Roanoke. In the latest Nerdist News (above), Jessica Chobot discusses if this is the season that’s bringing the entire AHS story together. What do you think? [Nerdist]

The Past. Now that the cat is out of the bag about the latest American Horror Story theme, they’ve released a promo previewing what’s ahead. It shows the reenactments will continue and that things get bloody… like they usually seem to on this show. [TVLine]

X-Ray Vision. Kevin Smith is directing another episode of The Flash, and he shared a photo of the script on Twitter. He used a pen to obscure the title of the seventh episode of season three, but you can see through to the page underneath and see the episode is called “Killer Frost.” Does this mean more of Caitlin’s doppelganger or is Earth-1 Caitlin in trouble of getting frosty? [Heroic Hollywood]

Getting High. HBO’s High Maintenance premieres tonight, September 16, and the pot-themed half-hour show hits the mark. Read Alicia’s review here at Nerdist.
