Feel like doing something that is not, at all, productive? Head over to Google and search “a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.”
Pretty neat, right?
If you decided you didn’t want to give up some of your precious time to do so, or decided to wait until after you read this article, the result of the search is a fun little easter egg in which the regular page of Google results take on the look of the title crawl intro from the Star Wars series. Complete with a starry background, slow-moving yellow text, and a button to toggle the main theme from the series on or off, this is another fun feature Google has implemented to celebrate the upcoming release of The Force Awakens.

Yesterday, we brought you a story about the various apps and pages owned by Google that are also celebrating Star Wars in some fashion. Whether browsing your GMail inbox or using Google’s maps feature for navigation, you’ll witness the Star Wars aesthetic after choosing to join the light side or the dark side.
Some may wonder why Google has decided to dive head first into pumping up Star Wars. It’s likely a business decision to drive up use of their products and website by appealing to the gigantic number of Star Wars fans, but it could very well be nothing more than a way to show their love for the franchise as well. Whatever the reason, we can be sure to see plenty more things of this nature in the coming month.
