If you were just thinking that you’d like your shoes to resemble the biggest, scariest fictional monster of all time, then check out Godzilla sneakers! No, we’re actually serious.
The green lizard skin side panels on these Nike Air Max CB 94′ kicks will sufficiently pop your eyeballs, and then there’s the soles that are reminiscent of bloodsucking creature fangs. Okay, if NBA mega-star Charles Barkley was still shooting hoops, he’d look pretty rad in these re-vamped signature sneakers. They were arguably his favorite sneaker, after all.
When the lights are off, the green skin glows, and you’ve got to admit that’s a sexy effect.
Remember the hilarious Nike campaign (Godzilla wears pink sunglasses, kind of hilarious) that pitted Barkley against the King of Kaiju himself? These shoes had to be created with the intention of bringing us back to that glorious moment in man vs. monster history. Seems like a job well done, don’t you think?
Barkley is almost as well known for his iconic sneakers as for his basketball legacy, which is a tight combination for a celebrity. But, if you want a piece of the sneaker pie, you might have to wait a while, as the Godzilla-style sneakers are currently only available in kids sizes. Here’s to hoping that the kid in all of us can run around in these grizzly suckers one day, making our debut in the world of creature fashion.
