One of the highlights of Adam Driver‘s hosting gig on Saturday Night Live was the delightfully hilarious Undercover Boss spoof that took Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ Kylo Ren behind the scenes on Starkiller Base. The skit was only five minutes long, but the masterminds at SNL just released another four fun minutes with the behind the scenes video above. And just in case you need a refresher, here’s the original skit:
Like any work place, Starkiller Base has its ups and downs, which Driver’s Ren discovers first-hand after he transforms into “Matt” and interacts with his fellow First Order minions played by SNL’s Bobby Moynihan and Taran Killam. From family issues to bereavement, Matt gets to see it all while rocking a truly epic blonde wig.
Driver may play scary in Star Wars but it’s clear he has both the good sense to laugh at himself and his damaged character. The skit made all of us laugh when it first aired, and getting to see the behind the scenes action presented above just makes you remember that Boyega, Ridley and Isaac aren’t the only three Star Wars actors having an amazing time being a part of this universe. Plus, who doesn’t love seeing the technical aspects of a Force throw by watching Moynihan get slammed into the wall on a wire repeatedly? I might rewatch the clip just to see that go on again.
