In case you’re wondering why more people are lining up outside your local Krispy Kreme Doughnuts franchise this month, look no further than your friendly neighborhood Ghostbusters. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the iconically sweet franchise, Krispy Kreme has teamed up with Sony Pictures to release, exclusively, two marshmallow Kremeâ„¢-filled donut homages to everyone’s favorite ghoulish villains.

The donuts will be decorated to honor both Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. The classic Ghostbusters donut will be decorated with white icing, a decorative green “splat” inspired by Slimer, and a Ghostbusters logo sugar piece. The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man donut will be decorated with white icing, the character’s familiar face and a sugar piece hat. We doubt there will be any nightmares featuring donuts rampaging through New York oozing marshmallowy goodness, but you never know.

Krispy Kreme is prepared for your immediate need to feast on these treats. They will only be available from September 29 to October 31 in the US and Canada, but you can call your local Krispy Kreme and preorder 5 dozen or more if you want to plan a big Ghostbusters party for the fall season.

Once you’ve loaded your bellies – we mean proton packs – with donuts, but still want to celebrate 30 years of telling your friends that you ain’t afraid of no ghost, Sony has a slew of new features on the Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-Ray including conversations with director Ivan Reitman and star Dan Aykroyd, never-before-seen deleted scenes from Ghostbusters II, the original music videos for both “Ghostbusters” and “On Our Own” by Bobby Brown.  The anniversary edition will also include all of the previously released bonus content so you won’t be missing out on anything.

Did we mention there was a toy? There’s a toy.
