Get Your First Tease of the New THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Super Bowl Spot

Mark Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man series has, quickly, been growing into a beast. With word of four films being in the works for the current iteration of the web slinger and confirmed spin-offs being developed for Venom and The Sinister Six, Webb’s cinematic Spider-Man universe isn’t going away any time soon. But while all of those projects are still years away from hitting the big screen, we only have to wait a few more months for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. After the debut of the first official trailer back in December, today, we get our first tease of the upcoming Super Bowl spot that will drop this Sunday.

Electro, Rhino, Goblin, planes, missles, yup, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 looks like it’s going to be one hell of a ride. What’s cool about the upcoming film is, at least in regards to Electro, the villains are being directly influenced by the presence of Spider-Man. Much like similar themes in films such as The Dark Knight, when the good guys step up their game, the bad guys have to step up even more. This time, it’s not a lizard with scrambled brains (though here’s hoping Doc Connors isn’t gone yet. You can never have too much Rhys Ifans in your life), it’s bad guys who want to go up against NYC’s most badass newcomer.

While rumors abound on what fate holds for Gwen Stacy in this film (based on certain set photos, the famed moment of Spidey lore might be making a big screen appearance this time around) continue to swirl, there’s no doubt The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is going to be one of the summer’s most epic events. So be sure not to miss the rest of the upcoming trailer this Sunday during the Super Bowl, and then right here at Nerdist.com when it drops online.
