Okay, let’s get this out of the way before anyone starts saying “football isn’t for nerds” ad nauseam. Much like Street Fighter or Call of Duty, football is, at its heart, a bloodsport, and fans tend to obsess over ever little facet, statistic, and detail of the game much like we nerds obsess about every little statistic and detail of things they love like Doctor Who or Game of Thrones. I played fantasy football for the first time this year and, let me tell you, it was basically just like playing a tactical RPG with a bunch of meaty 300-pound paladins, as opposed to waifish Final Fantasy characters.
