Get An Inside Look at The Stan Winston School’s Giant Creature From Comic-Con

If you were at Comic-Con over the weekend – and weren’t hanging out at all the awesome panels that were taking place – there’s a good chance you passed by a giant, animatronic creature that was roaming San Diego all four days. Well, The Giant Creature is a collaboration project brought to you by Stan Winston School, Legacy Effects, WIRED, and Stratasys. Together, the companies took to the Con to remind people how awesome practical effects and puppetry can be, so of course we had to take a moment to chat with puppet master Matt Winston about its mechanics.

As you may have noticed, we had a phenomenal time at Comic-Con. If you’d like to see everything that went down and catch the rest of our wrap-up coverage this week, keep your eyes on our Comic-Con splash page.

Do you dig The Giant Creature? What upcoming movie would you like to see use more practical effects? Let us know in the comments below!
