When we last left the Winchester Brothers of Supernatural, Dean was suffering the effect of The Mark of Cain, and Sam had discovered Abaddon was busy harvesting human souls to build a demon army she could use to wreak havoc, as one is wont to do as a knight of hell. Of course, this is all happening while fallen angels are still running amuck ever since Metatron cast them out of heaven at the end of season eight. But while the fallen angels are indeed a problem, the boys have one goal for the moment: Stop Abaddon at all costs. Of course, that’s hard to do when half your required weaponry is being stashed away by the current king of hell, Crowley.
In the next episode, “Meta Fiction,” Metatron tried to convince Castiel to join forces with him, but when everyone’s favorite angel refuses, it sets a plan into motion no one could have seen coming. In the meantime, Sam and Dean have some choice words for the now captured angel that secretly possessed Sam, Gadreel.
