Germany Will Win The 2014 World Cup Says FIFA 14 Simulation

While office workers across the world prepare to lose fives of dollars in World Cup office pools (and presumably more if they make their way down to see their bookies) and Brazil makes final preparations for one of the world’s biggest sporting spectacles, FIFA 14 publisher Electronic Arts has learned exactly who will win this year’s tournament Germany.

Now, I know what you may be thinking – Brazil is favored to win by most sources – but per the company’s tradition, EA published their pre-World Cup predictions based on simulations of the 32-team tournament using FIFA 14.

“EA was able to simulate the 2014 FIFA World Cup and test all 32 teams under the same conditions they will face in the weeks ahead in Brazil,” the company explained on their website. “It was determined that Germany will defeat Brazil 2-1 (ET) at the Estádio do Maracanã on July 13 to win the country’s fourth FIFA World Cup, becoming the first European nation to win the FIFA World Cup on South American soil.”

Now, it may seem silly to try and divine who is going to win this year’s World Cup by using a video game, but it bears mentioning that EA successfully predicted that Spain would win the whole shebang back in 2010. Can they do it again? Considering the United States has 100-1 odds to win the whole thing, I’m starting to think they might be on to something.

Here’s the complete tournament predictions and results from the elimination rounds:

Final

Brazil 1 – 2 Germany (ET)

3rd Place Game

Portugal 1 – 3 Spain

Semi Finals

Brazil 1 – 0 Portugal

Spain 0 – 0 Germany (Germany 5-4 pens)

Quarter Finals

Brazil 2 – 2 Uruguay (Brazil 4-3 pens)

Portugal 4 – 3 Nigeria

England 0 – 2 Spain

Germany 2 – 1 Argentina

Round of 16

Brazil 3 – 1 Netherlands

Ivory Coast 2 – 3 Uruguay

France 0 – 1 Nigeria

Portugal 2 – 0 Russia

Spain 3 – 1 Mexico

England 1 – 1 Colombia (England 4-3 pens)

Argentina 2 – 0 Ecuador

Belgium 1 – 2 Germany

Though I can’t predict strongly. But i am always in a side of Germany since i watched football officially. It might be rediculous that i don’t know german team properly but i just say and wish the Germany would be the first winner of world cup in American continent. Go Germany……Go

They’ll have to rerun the whole simulation now German Marco Reus is injured. Also, the German team is usually paralyzed from fear whenever they’re playing against Spain or Italy. It’s third place max.

Having played a number of modern FIFA games, I can say with great confidence that their simulated match results are, more often than not, utter bollocks.

  4. Please, Uruguay is going to win the cup!!!
