Geek & Sundry Presents STAR WARS: THE PURR AWAKENS

There has been… an awakening. Have you felt it? It feels…. fluffy.

Yes, our brilliant siblings over at Geek & Sundry have done what so far we have only dreamed of: they recreated the first Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser with KITTENS! Aptly titled “The Purr Awakens,” the Paw Wars video takes a bunch of teensie lil’ kitties and trains them on how to pilot an X-wing, sends them scampering after the Millenium Falcon, and even gives them their very own tri-saber to play with. We’d be jealous, but we also got to hang with the kittens when they weren’t shooting. (Except for that Kylo Ren kitty. He’s pretty method, you don’t want to mess with him during a shoot.)

This video wasn’t just an excuse to hang with kittens all day (though that was a major perk). All of the force-embued felines came to play in our office courtesy of The Stray Cat Alliance. In case you’re not familiar with the group, here’s their official mission statement:

Stray Cat Alliance educates the community to advocate for every cat’s right to be safe, healthy and valued. We are building a No Kill nation, one stray at a time.

This means cats on the street as well as owned cats are supported and protected by Stray Cat Alliance. From targeted spay and neuter in some of the nation’s poorest communities to free medical care, foster and adoption, Stray Cat Alliance advocates for cats’ rights and safety.”

Basically… SCA is the Force for cats!

Now, to spend the entire day singing the Star Wars theme like a cat. ♫ Meoww-meow… meow-meow-meow MEOW meow… meow-meow-meow MEOW meow… meow-meow-meow-meowwwww! ♬♪
