GEARS OF WAR Creator Will Reveal New Project This Week

“Prepare for The Shattering” — whatever that means. A mysterious website by Nexon has popped up on the web with the aforementioned ominous message teasing the announcement of Boss Key Productions‘ game. For those of you who don’t know, Boss Key is the development team founded by Gears of Wars creator Cliff Bleszinski. Long known as Project BlueStreak, the game is a free-to-play sci-fi FPS that was originally announced last year.

A large, prominent timer sits on the mysterious site, promising reveals in the coming days. As of right now, only the above teaser is available to watch, depicting some cataclysmic event that has wrecked a city.

Cliff Bleszinski has gone on Twitter clarifying that “The Shattering” is not the actual name of the game, which probably means that the tagline is actually the name of the event that brought forth such destruction to the displayed city. Rohan Rivas, Boss Key Productions’ community manager has released this message on their forums:

“Over the next few days, there’s going to be a lot of ‘information’ revealed about The Shattering and we want YOU to weigh in, react, participate and help us build a community from scratch.”

Furthermore, the Gears creator also shared his excitement through a Tweet, urging everyone to register to their site:

Whatever they have cooking up over there sounds exciting, so stay tuned for the eventual full reveal that would ideally be announced this weekend at PAX.

Are you excited to see what the revel will be? Are you going to register to try to be one of the first people to get a glimpse at their project? Let us know in the comments below.
