GEARS OF WAR 4 Launching This October

Grab your Lancers, Gears of War fans! Microsoft has revealed that Gears of War 4 will be launching October 11. The most dedicated fans are also going to get a crack at the multiplayer component of the game later this month. If you purchased and played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on the Xbox One or Windows 10, you’ll be granted access to the multiplayer beta that is running April 18-24. In order to be eligible to participate, all you need to do is boot up the game some time between now and April 11.

If you’ve yet to play the remastered version of the original game, don’t worry. The open beta for all Xbox Live Gold members will start April 25 and end on May 1, so, you’ll have plenty of time to get your hands on some gameplay.

Microsoft has also teased that they’ll be revealing more information about JD Fenix and the rest of the crew in the coming months. It’s safe to assume that we’ll be seeing a lot more of the game during Microsoft’s E3 press conference this year, and other upcoming gaming expos.

Entertainment Weekly also got the scoop on the game’s cover art, which unfortunately isn’t looking great. I mean, it’s your standard “dude-bro holding an assault rifle” on the cover of yet another game. So yeah, I guess it’s fine. On the bright side, the gun on this cover does include a chainsaw.

Despite my lukewarm reaction to the cover art, it’s still incredibly exciting to know that the wait for the next installment in this beloved franchise won’t be too long. After all, there are so many questions that need answering!

What do you guys think about the cover art? Are you going to be joining the multiplayer beta? How excited are you to see The Coalition‘s new Gears of War? Let us know in the comments below!
